| Both Cristy Lane's ('77) and Peggy Sue's ('78), C&W hits in their own right, are different Let Me Down Easy's. Lane's was written by Doug Flett and was originally recorded by Lobo (Philips - '72). Same goes for Lori Liebermann's (covered by Player) and Van McCoy's ('72 - Buddah), covered by G.C. Cameron, Dennis Brown and Derrick Harriott. Then there's Little Milton (covered by Etta James), The Isley Brothers, Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose, Mark James and Chris Hillman, all with unique Let Me Down Easy's. Alvin Robinson's, written by King Curtis (Atco - '68), was covered by Freddie King in '69. |
