| Agnes Jones and Freddy James were an alias for Bobby Sharp and Teddy Powell. Teddy worked in the Brill Building and offered Bobby Sharp $50 for 50% of the writing credits. Bobby Sharp was the actual writer but so into drugs he agreed. In '63 he sold the other half for $1.000. In '87 he managed to re-establish his own copyright, just in time for the Joe Cocker cover. Agnes Jones was the name of his niece. Teddy Powell also holds rights on Bewildered (see there). |
