 Henry Colpi was a film director in need for some barrel organ music for his short feature Marché aux Puces. The music was provided by film composer Georges Delerue (Hiroshima mon amour, Jules et Jim, La Nuit Américaine). Charmed by the result, Colpi wrote some lyrics to go with it, useful for his next film project Une aussi longue absence with Cora Vaucaire. Prix Delluc in '61.
