| | Vocal: Adelaide Hall. Using the melody of Joe 'King' Oliver's Camp Meeting Blues, recorded in 1923 with his Creole Jazz Band. Ellington reedman Rudy Jackson had presented the melody to the Duke claiming it was his own composition. Soon as Oliver attempted to sue Ellington, Jackson was fired (to make room for Barney Bigard as his replacement). |
